BONy

Babylon & ONtology: Multilingual and cognitive e-Learning Management System via PDA phone. BONy is a project financed with the EC funds in the domain of "Lifelong Learning Programme" and managed by EACEA. The aim of the project is to develop a new generation of Learning Management System, able to create multilingual formative schemes designed on Customers needs. The system is based on the concept of ontological analysis of the learning context which, thanks to the semantic web, allows the definition of the concepts to teach with greater detail. In order to demonstrate the efficiency of the project, a pilot course in Project Cycle Management (P.C.M.) will be created in e-learning mode, in various languages, and to be distributed also through portable devices such as PDAs. Another important innovation in the domain of long distance learning is the introduction of social networking among teachers and students, by creating some kind of “Friends-to-Friends” expert community, thanks to which knowledge is not only distributed but shared too. http://www.bonynetwork.eu/ Together with P.M.F, coordinator of the project, the other partners are: INK Catalunya, S.A. (POLAND) BONy Final Conference The final conference of the BONy project was held in Rome on 11 December 2009. BONy is a project co-financed by EC (DG EAC) in the domain of "Lifelong Learning Programme". The project started on January 2008 and will end on December 2009. This conference was the final dissemination event concluding the project, where the achieved results was presented together with high level perspectives on the field given by keynote speeches. Our aim was to stimulate the interest of researchers, companies and teachers interested in inventing, implementing and adopting technology enhanced learning solutions. The conclusion of the event was an industry panel involving companies and research institutions. http://www.bonynetwork.eu/conference/index.html BONy progress report obtained a positive evaluation for the work done in 2008.
